New Direction For IAM

New Direction For IAM

While it is important for the IAM to continue with the work they currently do and do well, they have branched out into new areas, with the first meeting of the IAM Logistics Network, ILN.

The Gosselin Group, in Antwerp in Belgium, hosted this first meeting.  All those in attendance thought the experience and the chance to meet and connect to other businesses was an opportunity not to miss.

Since the meeting was such a success, plans are being made for the next meeting.  There are provisional dates as early as the spring in 2015. One area all members agreed upon was the importance of having a dedicated space for the ILN in the next IAM meeting due to take place in Orlando, Florida.

It is important to grow connections within a business and this is easier through associations who are able to connect companies together. This one idea of connecting business comes as a direct result of the ILN’s first annual meeting.  The future of further collaboration is an exciting prospect for the moving industry.

The hope is to develop ways in which businesses can connect electronically and allow for a greater development in opportunities, especially when a partnership for a project is the best course of action for the success of a project. Bringing companies together is a step closer in bringing the moving business globally in line with each other and not battling against unknown forces.

The agenda for the first meeting was to view the IAM Logistics Network presentation and to listen to the other members present their own presentations. The meeting was over 2 days and these were filled with the talking logistics, as well as a tour of the hosting company’s facilities.  They even managed a boat tour of the Port of Antwerp.

The message that seems to come from this first meeting is the potential for the success of this new direction for the IAM.
