The well-known “Hours of Service” rule that is presently in effect for any long haul driver is currently undergoing some interesting changes that will play an important role in regards to the moving industry.

In the first part of this two-part article series we looked at the roles state associations played in the success of the moving industries located in Illinois as well as California. In continuance of this series we will be taking a look at how Alaska’s close connection with their state associations are in turn leading to the continued success of the moving companies within the state as well.

Regardless of where in the country your moving business is located no problem that you find yourself faced with is unique. In fact, at some point, each moving company will find itself faced with a similar or identical problem of which requires resolution. In this two-part article, we will take a look at how state associations are helping individual moving companies find resolutions to the most common problems that these companies often face.

In the final part of this article we will be discussing how containerization is shaping the moving world, and what the future holds for the world of containers.

Containers in the moving industry have come a long way since their initial induction. Dating back to at least the mid-1950’s, the evolution of containers has grown and changed vastly. In this two-part article, we will take a look at the beginnings of containerization, as well as the future as demand for their usage in the moving industry continues to rise.

In our last post we noted how the daily wear and tear of America’s leading bridges are in turn becoming high-risk threats for collapse. In this post, we will continue to discuss briefly some failed attempts at increasing the gas/diesel taxes to help pay for the safety and restoration of these bridges, as well as our roads. Additionally we look a little deeper into what present measures are being taken by both the road departments, and even our nation’s tractor-trailer drivers.
