t is important to realize the hard work of the NCMA, National Council of Moving Association. They oversee the 27 organizations that help to improve the moving business as a whole. The NCMA was first established in 1969 as a way to improve the connection between the different organizations and to bring together the industries to ensure a smooth understanding of the requirements of the different aspects of the moving business across America.
The SDDC, Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, put forward the changes that are happening with regard to household goods movement in the armed forces. At the Personal Property Forum, members of the AMSA were present and the changes highlighted. It is still important that the contracts are of the highest standard, but a merger means there will be changes.
It is always fantastic news when receiving funding from a grant and it is no exception with the recent grant received by the AMSA. It is no secret in the moving business that keeping great drivers, who have the qualifications and will stay in the profession, is a difficult task especially due to a current shortage across the board. With this grant, AMSA hopes to help this shortage.
National moving month in May was a huge success by going live on the internet. The aim of the campaign was to highlight the importance of finding the right moving company which complies with all the current regulations.
It is exciting when proposals put forth from the government to address the current road-funding crisis. However, proposals that lack some basic infrastructure, which will look towards the future of the road network, send worrying signals to the AMSA community. The Highway Trust Fund, HTF, is looking for funding for the immediate future, but it doesn’t address the growing concern when a funding crisis hits because of a lack of investment.
The need for renting accommodation is on the increase, people are choosing this option as their preference for living. However, this can cause a problem in the moving business when it comes to finding these potential customers.
