The new committee is called the Entry-level driver Training Advisory Committee. They hold the knowledge that can ensure that systems and training packages improve, leading to an improvement on the roads and highways.

A new development in the Hours of Service rule is underway. A study has been called by Congress to look into a related ruling that was passed in 2013. The questions that are being studied include any safety aspects, health of the driver, and the possibility of fatigue. At the conclusion to this study, then the ruling will go back into effect. It has been in trouble since 2008, when the spending was more than the duty claimed. The resolution of a hike in the tax on fuel was rejected with the difference being settled from the general fund. This has continued each year as the amount collected and the amount spent still don’t match.
