Aprin trucks to the Rescue! – Carried Supplies to Aid Jersey Shore Storm
After the event of Superstorm Sandy left the Jersey Shore crippled and ravaged, Arpin Van Line made moving industry news when they sent two 53-foot moving trucks, filled with clothing, food, and supplies to the clean-up crews and residents aiding in relief, December 4, 2012. Tracy Healy, administrative assistant of the New Jersey Warehousemen & Movers Association, arrived to direct the distribution labors. Healy estimated it wouldn’t be until February when residents would be able to move back in. However, there will be donated supplies waiting for them once they get back.
As is typical of Arpin Van Lines and Cardi’s Furniture, the two teamed up once again, in early November, to reach out to the locals to donate clothing, blankets, canned goods, bottled water, and baby care items. The items were brought to Cardi’s locations throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The two have collaborated in the past after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Haiti was devastated by an earthquake in 2010.
There have been other relief drives held by Arpin agents in effort to offer assistance to those effected in New York and New Jersey. Hampton Roads Moving and Storage of Virginia collected 22,000 pounds of supplies, such as; batteries, diapers, medicine, household goods, 75 electric heaters, and 50 personal heaters.
Despite the travesties endured by these communities, Arpin and their collaborators have often lent a much-needed helping hand in recovery and easing the process of displaced residents moving back to their homes.
