Over 250 people attended the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command’s semi-annual Personal Property Forum on October 29th, 2013, in Fairview Heights, Ill. A variety of topics were discussed and a large number of varying opinions were certainly voiced. Among the top topics was SDDC’s approval of DoD Transportation Providers and the Open Season criteria.
While moving celebrities, athletes and writers may be a deep longing for the vast majority of moving businesses around the world; for one in particular that is the sole basis of their success. The Swiss Moving Company, namely Jimmy Bruzzese (one of the three founders), recently celebrated its 1,000 successful move, of some very famous people.
For the past several months CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) drivers in Michigan have been receiving notices to complete a self-certification which is required, and also of which has a deadline that is fast approaching, January 30th, 2014. This article is meant to inform any CDL drivers who drive for a company based in the state of Michigan and who may have questions or concerns of the requirements of the self-certification process.
In the first part of this two-part article series we looked at the roles state associations played in the success of the moving industries located in Illinois as well as California. In continuance of this series we will be taking a look at how Alaska’s close connection with their state associations are in turn leading to the continued success of the moving companies within the state as well.
Regardless of where in the country your moving business is located no problem that you find yourself faced with is unique. In fact, at some point, each moving company will find itself faced with a similar or identical problem of which requires resolution. That is actually one of the beautiful things surrounding the moving world… we’re all linked in one form or another. In this two-part article, we will take a look at how state associations are helping individual moving companies find resolutions to the most common problems that these companies often face.
In the first part of this two-part article we discussed the foundations that have built and strengthened the recent rise of containerization in the moving industry. In the final part of this article we will be discussing how containerization is shaping the moving world, and what the future holds for the world of containers.
